Thirty-six years after the release of his final LP, the work of Australian Music legend John J Francis is finally being made available on CD.

On October 17th, 2010 Two Faced Records will release Legacy, a 15 track compilation of John J's most requested songs which have been meticulously restored and digitally remastered from the original analog master tapes. This is a truly historical moment in Australian Music as it is the very first time that the music of John J Francis, has been available on CD.

Between 1972 and 1974 John J Francis released four highly respected studio albums through Warner Brothers and penned the iconic surf anthem, Simple Ben as well as scoring an Australian top 10 hit with the single Play Mumma, Sing Me a Song. In 1974 he became the musical director for the popular ABC-TV series, Sit Yourself Down, Take a Look Around and in 1976 began hosting the Saturday midnight-to-dawn shift on radio station 2JJ.

SWITCHFOOT TOUR RELEASE: “The voice of Switchfoot front man Jon Foreman does sound more than a little like Bono’s” –
“Switchfoot has much in common with arena-rocking peers like Coldplay and Snow Patrol.” –
“The San Diego band offers high-voltage buzz-saw riffs and irresistible melodic hooks” – “The multi-platinum pop/rockers doing charity work with Bono, sound-tracking TV hot-tub scenes and surfing.” Music OMH
Ladies and Gentlemen, the wait is over, Switchfoot has added Australia to their world tour. The past few years have been somewhat of a coming-of-age story for San Diego quintet Switchfoot and as a happy ending to the tale, the band is heading to Australia to play their brand of familiar anthemic rock tunes that acknowledge life’s storms while managing to find an element of hope in them.
Whilst the boys have been closely compared to bands like Snow Patrol, their latest album Hello Hurricane, which was featured in USA Today’s Fall Pick for most awaited album, has a far more edgy vibe to it than their previous albums. Packed full of songs you want to die singing, Switchfoot are back with a fighting spirit while still retaining their moniker of hope and optimism.
Although Switchfoot have never fit any of the genre boxes, the band find that diversity is their strength and that they operate at their best during their infamous and energetic live shows. Expect a night of melodic crunch with densely layered sound featuring some electronic experimentation, often driven by heart-pumping guitar riffs , with a few softer ballads thrown in as well.
